November 21, 2007
Langley, BC,
Canada:
Curlew
Lake Resources (TSX-V: CWQ) (Pink Sheets: CWLXF) is pleased to announce
its participation in the PROPEL MINARD HZ 3D3-23-3A13-14-6-7W2M
Horizontal Oil Well in the Minard area of Saskatchewan. The well will
test the Frobisher formation at a depth of approximately 1300 metres,
with an estimated 520 metre open hole lateral section in the pay
zone. Drilling commenced November 20, 2007 and is expected to take about
10 days to complete.
Under the
terms of a signed Participation and Joint Operating Agreement with
Propel Energy Corp. of Calgary; Curlew Lake agreed to pay 30 percent of
the cost of drilling and completing the well for production to earn a 25
percent working interest in any subsequent production. Initial
production from numerous successful wells of this type in the Minard
area has been in the 120 to 150 barrel per day range. With success on
this well, we anticipate participating in several more wells of this
type with Propel Energy.
Curlew
Lake and Propel Energy are also joint venture partners in the Metis
project north of Edmonton in Alberta, which has been held up while our
operating partner, Metis Moccasin Resources Ltd. negotiates land access
issues.
